Top 5 Things to Do in Vancouver BC with a Dog This Summer

Is there a more chill way to spend your staycation in Vancouver than quality time with your furry pal? We can't think of one! Vancouver offers some great dog-friendly options like Spanish Banks dogs beach (and other off-leash areas), Petapalooza, and breed-specific meetups (Vancouver corgi meetup anyone?). Check out this list of the top 5 things to do with your dog in Vancouver this summer. 

Summer Cinema @ Stanley Park

Bring snacks, a comfy blanket, and your dog for a fun family affair: free movies under the stars at Stanley Park. Summer Cinema is playing movies after sunset at Second Beach in Stanley Park from July 2nd to August 20th. Catch some of your favourites such as Shrek, Jurassic Park, and Wayne’s World! Tip: You may want to tire your pup out a bit beforehand or bring quiet snacks to entertain them for the full length of the movie.

(On-Hold due to Covid)Biggest Dog Meet-up #7 - Trout Lake

The annual doggy meet-up is has been postponed this year due the recent events happening around the world. Normally hosted by Dogs of Vancity, this a four-legged party that you won't want to miss. Dogs from all over B.C. and Metro Vancouver meet up for fun socialization and to make new friends. You'll find that groups of the same breed LOVE to get some epic group photos. Be sure to stay tuned for updates or details in regards to the event happening next year!

Pet-A-Palooza Yaletown

There is no better way to celebrate the day of the dog than to attend a pet convention. Like many other events this year, it has been postponed, but be sure to find us next year; where there will be free admission and completely pet-friendly activities in Yaletown from 11 am - 4 pm. This is a great way to experience puppy yoga in Vancouver, along with dog races and other fun competitions. Best of all, you'll find Kafka's there! Be sure to stop by the Kafka’s Organic booth to say hello, we're super excited to meet our Vancouver pet parents. We will see you next year!

Capilano Suspension Bridge - North Van

Venture (slightly) out of the city and enjoy the day with your doggo at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park! The bridge itself is only 1 of 7 attractions in the park. This activity is a great way to put the trust between you and your dog to the test as they may not want to cross the bridge. Be sure to keep your pupper on a leash when visiting the 450-foot long bridge.

Hadden Park and Dog Beach -Kitsilano

If you love dogs and the sun, you have to check this place out! Situated only minutes from downtown Vancouver, you'll find the perfect doggie spot to make new friends, throw a ball or watch the sunset curled up on a blanket. Unlike other dog-friendly beaches, Hadden Dog Beach is completely separate from the human-only beach, so every dog and parent will be welcomed with open paws (; In our opinion this is a MUST do this summer!

Dog Beach Meet Up - Spanish Banks 

Soak up some sun with some four-legged friends! On July 20th, come down to the Spanish Banks off-leash park from 2 - 3 pm. There will be lots of other dogs and fellow paw parents for you to meet and mingle with. They are also giving out free bandanas for your pup, so don’t forget to grab one. If all else fails, go at sunset to spend some alone-time just you and pup.
